You can breathe now with ease folks. It ends here again.

I enjoyed the theme of my media entries this quarter big time. Not only did it made me realize a lot of things about us, Filipinos, but it also left me a mark of pride to my country. Now, reading these entries, you'll know deep inside that nobody can put us down just like that and we are not just ordinary, we are something special. This is a big picture of a true filipino. My entries are meant to open our eyes to make people realize that nothing is to be ashamed of, nothing is to be changed and nothing does better.

Did you have an awesome good read about us? I hope you did :)

Mandy Moore and Alicia Silverstone are just one of the many famous Hollywood teen idols, add to that, also one of the highest paid teen stars.

We have surely seen billboards along the strip going to Makati right? They happen to be one of the models up there. Notice the Kamiseta and Penshoppe billboards with blonde and brunette models?

Can this be true? I read an article saying two local companies have taken a giant step in advertising their latest lines with this famous Holloywood teen stars. The filipino clothing and the foreign models, just doesn't match. Isn't that we should be advertising our own RTWs with our models here? Besides, we have beautiful, stunning and charming models. We shouldn't be ashamed of what we have here because there is nothing to be ashamed of anyway.

On the other hand, yes, it's part of the advertising technique, propaganda technique for that matter, to catch the consumers' needs. It is just depressing that we have better and more beautiful models than this two, not in a competitive way.

The good side is, Rica Peralejo, Kristine Hermosa and Diether Ocampo are the latest models in Penshoppe now (and also, Kim and Gerald Anderson). While so far, Kamiseta still sticks with the foreign models.

Have you ever asked yourself why small things can get enormously big and something so perfect can get a loopwhole?

Sometimes it is not in their league to ask private, even personal, questions, and yet they do ask them anyway. It is okay to talk about the actors and actresses because they are really a public item and discussing some happenings in their life could be interesting. However, sometimes it is going overboard. They dig one whole after another just to get a segment about it. It comes to a point that it is already a BIG HUGE RUMOR and yet, they enjoy talking about it, even pretending they feel bad about a person yet, their actions don't show it. Okay, now this is the real picture of media. They will use anything in their power- newspaper, magazines and talk shows- to be put up against a person. It is their job anyway and our responsiblity to fight and protect ourselves. This is the reason why, veterans in the business advise the young rising stars to "choose their battles" because it is not only in this business that it gets rough, also when we step out in our home, we would surely encounter almost the same battle. Only here, it is exposed internationally. In politics, sometimes it gets dirty also right?

Their hosts sometimes get so arrogant, as if they didn't have a life to protect. I acknowledge Boy Abunda's humility in asking for forgiveness when he is wrong though and Kris Aquino whenever she knows when to comment or not to comment.

On the other hand, sometimes you enjoy to watch the latest intrigues, is it not? ;)

Does this scenery ring a bell?

Oh. . if not, well let me just refresh you.

One of the finest tourist spots in the Philippines include this white sand beach resort. Isn't your second or fifth time to visit this paradise this summer? I have many friends who have walked through this white sand, side seeing a very captivating and breath-taking view.

Haven't I mentioned yet? This is the Boracay Island. I thought of surfing down the net the favorite tourist spots in our country, and if we are talking about the favorites, Boracay is definitely in the list. So, we talked about talents, skills and food, can I just say, that even in breath-taking views and sceneries, we are never left out. We are very rich in waters and lands. Foreigners invest here because, not that I'm bragging or anything, they simply love our country and they would even love to kiss the sands in our beaches. Add to that, our weather is fine compared to other countries. Aren't you just proud?

Oh, did you think the picture was from some place in the west? No dear, it is our very own lovely white sand paradise.

Just a brief intro about Max's restaurant:

Max's restaurant's beginning started in 1945, after World War II, Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford-educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo's nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for the drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a cafe where the troops can enjoy food and drinks.

The cafe initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo's niece- Ruby, who managed the chicken, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite. Soon the Filipino public heard about the delicious chicken- tender, juicy and crispy- and they came too! Max's Restaurant was born.

Max's Restaurant has established itself as a household name, an institution, and a proud Filipino tradition.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's talk about food, friends.

Max's Restaurant is a mark of Filipino food. Whoever hasn't gone to this restaurant has missed a lot! The best chicken in the country, started from here. The american troops' favorite chicken is cooked in this house.

When it comes to food, we, filipinos, are never behind. Our chefs are in demand in abroad because we are known to have one of the best cooks in Asia. I just adore this people and also those who started this restaurant. They knew how to catch the taste of their customers and just by that, tells us, that a really good cook doesn't just cook with the right ingredients but cooks with his whole heart. Read above the brief introduction and see that Maximo even started the restaurant for the troops to enjoy. They thought of serving unconditionally at first too. How remarkable is that?

You can say that there are more restaurants who serve scrumptious chickens but no one beats the first who served and catched the people's taste. Maybe their techniques in service and the aura they have is simply matchless.

HAWAK KAMAY by Yeng Constantino (Not familiar? Cick the link)

Last time, I was just telling you about how I liked the motivation inside the Pinoy Dream Academy show, the next thing I knew, I was singing Yeng's number one song piece! I just can't get it off my head. Her voice, so warm, soft and angelic kept me singing it inside my head. By the way, for your information, Yeng's composed song, Hawak Kamay, won the best theme song of the year in the MMFF Awards Night. How does that sound guys?

I will go on and on here, telling you how beautiful composition Yeng has come up with. It is indeed a phenomenal song hit. For me, I think, it's a song for our friends. Every one has their circle of solid friends and sometimes we just can't express how thankful we are. We pay them back through being there every time they need a shoulder or being at our craziest with them to keep their problems away. We are all, at some point, like this to our friends, is it not? Now, Yeng, has contributed to give us another option of expressing our gratitude to them. We can play casual with them as we play this song while on a trip or suggest them to upload this in their iPODs. They will surely get the point without being so mushy and all. However, being mushy and cheesy isn't that bad, from time to time, it is also nice to share a little drama with our friends.

For we are with them at our darkest, craziest and even at our strangest, we should not forget that a "thank you" is more than just a phrase.

Jolibee Commercial

Jolibee executive producers chose the right man to advertise their infamous fastfood store. Aga Muhlach's is a very respected actor in show business and with his fatherly like elements, he suits well his role in the commercial to give or share gifts with the poor needy children.

As we all know, Jolibee is our product, this has filipino style writen all over. Jolibee also has average products that can be purchased even by the lower class people and by that, Jolibee is meant to reach out to the needy. Having a commercial that shows gifts giving is classic. Not all commercials has values instilled in their rolling cameras.

Having Aga around, together with his charms, the Jolibee, since they started the "MaAGA ang Pasko" project, have been collecting old toys and clothes to be given to the children who needs it. This commercial, though not of a catch to the teenagers, is a very good commercial example that should be followed by our producers in the industry. These kinds of commercials should influence others to level up.

Why this is a classic? Everyone knows this commercial because it is unique, it is like no other. I do not really watch commercials that much because it bores me, but this happen to show up one time I was waiting for a show and it never really left my mind since.

Maging Sino Ka Man

Forgive me fellow readers, but you are actually starting to get the real Christine Mate who is very much of a hopeless die hard fan of any teleserye alive in ABS.

The teleseryes previous to this one is very much boring especially when fanta-series started flooding the two competing networks.

So far, the only thing that I do not like about the teleserye is the amnesia Jackie (Bea Alonzo) got into. It is very unrealistic or should I just say exaggerated. If you have been religiously watching this, you will sure know what I am saying. While this part stink, the rest is great! I am surprised that some of our young actors and actresses are getting better and teaming up with our promising legend Christopher de Leon, Chin-chin Gutierrez and Dick Ysrael is notable.

John Llyod suits well for his character, no matter how heavy drama or light-hearted the scene calls for, he manages to pull the strings up!

Bea Alonzo deserves the worst dressed and best drama trophy award. From her past movies, she has always that tendency to overdress for her age. Though I commend her to be one of the great actresses now in the business, she cries so fast!

Anne Curtis is as lovely, charming and attractive as ever but she always does the same roles- the bad girl type who soonly changes to a good girl. In Hiram, she made her viewers love her but if she'll do the same thing here, I do not think that much of an impact.

Lastly, let's just accept the fact that Sam Milby is an english person and whenever he will talk in tagalog, all his charm will simply melt down to his feet. However, he deserves to be acknowledged with his performance, he has captured our hearts as JB.

Pinoy Dream Academy

Whether you are a fan of this show or not, admit it that Filipinos are naturally good in singing. In fact, we have one of the best singers born here in our little archipelago. Doesn't this just makes us feel good about ourselves? Every time a filipino brings pride to our country, like Jasmin Trias who got in the core three in the finest American Idol show, who doesn't bite their lips in joy? Well, I do!

Compared to the lame teen/celebrity search for the most insert-any-adjective Filipino, this show is way better because the show aims to build the character of the amateur singers. They also give lots of good tips to improve how they project, how they should deal with certain situation and lastly, teaches them to be confident, determined and focused in their career.

I did not religiously watch this grand star dreamer search but I do get to watch sometimes and they are really good. The big opportunity given to them is overwhelming so a big piece of advice I can give is "humble yourselves".

Yeng deserved it big time. I was astonished when the first time I watched her, I noticed her to be some kind of a boyish type of girl, however, when you hear her sing, oh good Lord! She will definitely melt your heart. She will be the kind of singer who you would love to serenade your lovely romantic nights with your partner.

When it comes to singing, dancing and acting, we Filipinos are never behind. Our passion with it never fails and brings us to some places with flying colors!
