In the course of writing all the entries (10 entries to be exact) in my media log, finally, it made sense to me how our world really revolves around media. It is like, I can just comment in almost everything visible in my eyes.

I utterly enjoyed making all the entries in my media log. I have never enjoyed this much in writing. Thank you Miss Platon for such an incredible idea of putting up or making our own media log.

For the next entries to come, I plan to make a certain theme for every quarter so as to point out some random facts about media.

From Snail Mails to the modernized Electronic Mails and to now even made better Yahoo! Messengers

What is the fastest way to get in touch with our friends today?

Just a click away, we can already reach them. We need not wait for a couple of days for them to get our message. How is this? And again, whomever is not familiar with the Yahoo! Messenger must be an allien! (just exaggerating)

It is just so marvelous how man has come up with such an invention. Imagine, from snail mails wherein we need a pen, a piece of paper and an envelope to send a not-so-long message to our friends, we now have this advanced way of communicating and even getting the instant reply in just a flick of our finger?

Now with even more appealing features, this Yahoo Messenger has become in-demand to the point that teenagers have labeled it with one of their 'must haves'. Teenagers of our age just can't wait to go home to go online and see who are online. I am one of these people! It just has a tremendous impact to all of us haven't you noticed?

In line with this, I have come to realize the long term effects of this messenger. One thing about this messenger is that we get so hooked in it and we're glued to our chairs leaving our school works untouched and worst, even ignored at times. Another is, with so highly advanced way of communication, we tend to become lazy in a way that when we befriend someone, we just get satisfied in chatting and seeing these people in our web cameras. How low can we get? I guess in this part, it is up to the judgement of people in how they want to use this advanced communication tool.

"The Infamous Online Journals"- quoted from Ms. Platon

I know a lot of people who have online journals. It may be in livejournal, blogspot, xanga or tabulas but it is still the same journal wherein you broadcast your feelings, emotions, opinions, rants and some other random facts about you to everyone who has access in internet. I, too, have one in blogspot.

Let us go back to the old-fashioned times where a diary is a diary where we write personal random facts and we do not let anybody to get even just a glimpse of it except, of course, our bestest friends. Is it not ironic that now we even put these journals, which is a sort of a diary too, online and we complain when a person comes bashing you right in your face?

But speaking from my own point of view, there is nothing wrong to have an online journal of your own. The journal itself is not the problem but the person using it might just be the one who has the problem. Yes, excuse yourself that it is "your own blog", "you have your own rules" and "mind your own businesses for crying out loud" but the point is, the way you write, the things you write and the expressions you use are actually read and seen by anyone who has access in internet and this can cause a big fuss. So be cautious of what you write because you do not want the person reading it to jump into conclusions of what kind of person are you. If you do not like to be bombarded by the things that can hurt you or if you do not want to get into any crappy troubles then shift back to the old-fashioned way. Get a diary!

I have been victimized by some rude, selfish people who write unconsciously about people they do not even know. I tell you, what you are doing is character deformation and if you stick to "hey, this is my blog and I write what I want", you are definitely going down. You are absolutely clueless that technology has eaten you alive. This is however the bad side of having online journals because some people now a days are tackless and insensitive.

In contrary to that, I am aware of the things I put online and I am cautious whenever I write my entries in my blog because I believe to the saying "Do not do unto other what you do not want them to do unto you"

STARBUCKS

If I will be an entrepreneur, I would surely be a millionaire by now if I had a franchise like this. Who agrees with me?

I do not know any person who does not know or is not familiar with this famous coffee shop.

Imagine? It is just your ordinary coffee at home. The only difference is they put a magical blend of different flavors in it that is simply mouth-watering and would definitely make you crave for some more. It is not so suprising that it has become somewhat of a status symbol. Don't you notice that when you see teenagers of our age with a, for example, mocha frappe in hand or you see a group of teenagers hanging out inside the coffee shop, the way you look at these people suddenly change? It is like their status rank has increased just because of buying this coffee. Starbucks has an image of classiness and it really has that impact on us.

But on the other hand, even if it has different flavors, it is still unhealthy. Let's accept the fact that we are just pressured to fit in.

How far are we going to let ourselves be pressured?

But hey, personally, I also sometimes have the tendency to be persuaded by my friends. What's the lamest reason we can give? "It tastes so good"
